He was named in his father’s will.
Discrepant Facts notes for 5G GF Edmund Talbott Jr.
An Edmund Talbott died in 1794. The records of St James Parish record his burial 25 Nov 1794, age 88 years. This would fit with the birth record I found that he was born in 1706 in Anne Arundel County.
It would make perfect sense that this was the Edmund who wrote his will 16 May 1794 that proved Dec 1794. A small problem is that there is a mismatch between the names of his wife and children in that will as compared to those names as taken from church baptism records.
His will named these children: Hannah Scarff, Mary Talbott, an unnamed daughter who had married William Oldham and apparently died before the will was written and son Thomas who also was deceased. From church records, we know that he and wife Mary baptized Charles, Thomas, Mary and Edmund. (Barnes adds Ruth to that list and we know that Ruth Talbott married William Oldham in 1754). So, Thomas, Mary and Ruth match on both lists, Hannah is only in the will and Edmund and Charles go missing. His will also referred to wife Elizabeth.
Despite these issues, I think the explanation is that wife Mary had died and Edmund married Elizabeth second and that sons Charles and Edmund must have died young without issue. Finally, the baptism of Hannah simply went unrecorded.

Gust Skordas wrote a book ”Early Settlers of Maryland” and in it he listed Edmund Talbott with various early land patents in 1723 and 1730 and 1772. The earlier ones are probably Edmund Sr.
Robert Barnes writes: ”Edmund (Jr.) was alive in 1739, may have been the Edmund that died with will dated 16 May 1794 proved Dec 1794 married Mary and had issue: Charles, Ruth, Thomas, Mary (born 28 Nov 1737) and Edmund.” Barnes’ information came mainly from church records.

Children Names notes for 5G GF Edmund Talbott Jr.
The records of St. George/St. John Parish show several children born to Edmund (Jr. presumably) and his wife also named Mary including Charles 1730, Thomas 1733, Mary 1737 and Edmund 1739.
My Comments notes for Mary (Spouse 1)
There is a marriage record for Edmund Talbott to Elizabeth Parker 10 Oct 1779. Since Edmund said in his will that his wife was Elizabeth, I assume she was his second wife.
