Could she be Mary Talbott, b. 28 Nov 1737, daughter of Edmund2 and Mary Talbott? (We have gone of these Talbott lines so much but want to share something I found recently.)

To refresh your memory:
Edmund Talbott1 died ca. 1731; owned large tract of 1,000 acres in Baltimore Co., “Bond’s Gift.” Tract was located adjoining home of William Standiford, where Bloyce was raised. [Note: Bloyce’s mother, Christiana (Enloes) Wright m. #2 William Standiford after death of Thomas Wright.] Tract was divided among sons, Edmund2, William, and John Talbott.

Both Edmund (II) and William had daughters named Mary. Both Mary’s were therefore in equal proximity to where Bloyse grew up.

New Material:
Tax Assessment of 1774
Thomas Wright was living in home of Edmond Talbott in Bush River Upper Hundred (Harford Co.). (Believe Edmond2 was a blacksmith.)

New Material:
Tax Assessment of 1776
Thomas Wright was living in home of Edmond Talbott in Gunpowder Upper Hundred (Baltimore Co.). This hundred adjoins Bush River Upper in Harford Co.
Question: Could this be Thomas Wright, aged about 15, son of Bloyce and Mary Talbott learning the trade of blacksmith? Edmund2 died I think in 1775, although Bob Barnes gives the date as probably 1794. [Evidently, Mary Wright didn’t find the 1794 will for Edmund Talbott.] If so, Thomas would be living with grandfather (Mary’s father) in 1774 and with uncle Edmund Talbott3 (Mary’s brother) in 1776.

How is it known that Bloyce and Mary had a son Thomas? Barnes says it but based on what? Thomas was not a named heir of Bloyse when his heirs disposed of his property in 1811.

One Mary had a father named Edmund, quite alive in both 1774 and 1776. The other Mary had an uncle named Edmund (the same Edmund as father to the other Mary). Both Mary’s had a brother named Edmund though William’s son of that name died young and in any event before 1774.

Let’s say Thomas Wright was living with Edmund II in both 1774 and 1776. Edmund was his grandfather (seems likely) or his grand-uncle (seems less likely but not out of the question).

For recall:
Mary’s brothers and sisters were:
(a) Ruth, b. 1733; d. 1773; m. Wm. Oldham, 1754
(b) Charles, b. 1730; d. 1756
(c) Thomas, b. 1735; d. 1773; m. (1) Belinda Slade, 1766; m. (2) Edward Stansbury
(d) Mary, b. 29 Nov 1738; d.????; perhaps married Bloyce Wright
(e) Edmund 3, b. 1739; d.????; m. Rebecca. [This may be the Edmund who m. Rebecca Robinson, 18 Jun 1753, Baltimore Co., MD.]

Indenture of Bloyce and Mary after marriage in 1757.
Blois Right to Wm. Andrews, 10 May 1759
Bloyce Wright to Nathan Johnson, 10 Apr 1772
Witnessed by Thomas Talbott (Mary’s Brother?)
Thomas Bond (neighbor)
Or Thomas Talbott, neighbor?

Inventory of Thomas Talbott, 1775 [He is son of Edmund Talbott2 and brother to Mary Talbott.]
Bloyce Wright owed estate 3:19:2½
Thomas was a merchant and brother of Mary.
(This item was in a list of others owing debts to estate.)

I would love to see whether other debtors were exclusively his siblings and their spouses or some of his cousins and their spouses.

Note: I have checked wills and estates of all Edmund Talbotts but found nothing. [Evidently, she didn’t find the 1794 will for Edmund Talbott, which is surprising.] One other possibility: Edmund2 owned 2 lots in Baltimore Town in 1754. He was church warden and clerk of St. Paul’s Parish in 1751–52, vestryman in 1764–1766. (From Historical Sketches of St. Paul’s Parish). I think he might have recorded his daughter’s marriage in church records [her marriage was recorded, just we don’t know whose daughter said Mary was], if such records exist. I will check if I can get to Hall of Records in Annapolis in near future.

The crux of my argument -- the big discordant note -- stands. Why did Edmund II specifically name his daughter Mary Talbott and not Mary Wright in his will?
My Comments notes for Mary Talbott
I believe Mary was a spinster, still unmarried when her father wrote his will in 1794. I do not believe that this particular Mary married Bloyce Wright.
