Relocated and Census Tracking notes for John N (Spouse 1)
This whole family is elusive in 1820. I cannot find his older brother Peter who John may be still living with and if John has already married and is living on his own, I cannot find him.
In 1830, I can find John in Frederick County, MD and then in 1840 and 1850 he is in Washington County, MD.
In the 1850 Census, a Simon P Summers lives in John’s household. That name resonates with the name of John Summers who was Theobald’s neighbor and fellow shoemaker in Frederick in the 1760’s .
He is not listed on the 1860 Census but his widow Catherine is present in Boonsboro, now with two young Summers males.
Death and Find-a-Grave notes for John N (Spouse 1)
John’s wife is on find-a-grave. Her tombstone says wife of John Mertz. He predeceased her but I would think he is also buried in the Boonsboro Cemetery but no note of it is on find-a-grave.
