Adam lived with his parents in 1850. In 1860, he was living in Butler County, Ohio where he and wife Delilah must have moved soon after their marriage.
Delilah died in 1855 and was buried there. Adam then died while a soldier in the Civil War and so also was buried in Butler County.

Adam and Delilah had one daughter, Margaret J, born about 1852. Margaret was living with her parents in Ohio when first her mother died in 1855 and then her father in 1862. She then went to live with Kean and Eliza. Later she married George Eichelberger and in 1880 was living next door to the Gemmills (her aunt and uncle) in Heidelberg, York County.
