J L Floyd said this about Franklin. “Franklin Martz, son of David, was born Dec. 12, 1835, in Northumberland County, was reared upon a farm and learned the carpenter's trade, following both farming and carpentry. He died near Paxinos, on his farm, in July, 1887, and is buried at the Blue Church. His wife, Margaret (Fisher), a native of Northumberland County, daughter of John Fisher, still survives, residing at Paxinos. She is a member of the German Reformed Church, as was also Mr. Martz. They were the parents of a large family, five of whom are living: Edward H.; William, who lives in Shamokin; Bertha M., married to Frank Wertley; Catherine A., married to William Kriegbaum; and Clarence K.”
