Peter is a known son of David from his will. He was named his Executor along with David’s wife Barbara. Peter is designated P2e.
Relocated and Census Tracking notes for Peter Martz (P2e)
THE DAYTON OHIO MERTZES. Peter sold several tracts of Augusta Township land, probably those referred to in his father’s will, in about 1836 and moved at about that time to Germantown, OH (near Dayton). One tract of 130 acres was sold to Jacob, but I’m not sure which one. P6a4, I think. This land had passed to Peter’s father from his mother-in-law Margaret Miller.

In 1830, Peter lived in Augusta Township, next to his mother, Barbara. Another Peter, his cousin, lived in Sunbury. By 1840, he had moved to Germantown.
Death and Find-a-Grave notes for Peter Martz (P2e)
I have a copy of the Registrar’s transcription of Peter’s will written 5 Dec 1852 and proved 30 Dec 1852. It mentioned wife Hannah and children Elizabeth, Amelia, David, Susan, Jacob and Mary.

Peter is on find-a-grave with dates 1790-1852 buried at Germantown Cemetery. I have an exact birth and death date for Peter which I assume I got from the work of Allen Tallman.
Known Daughters notes for Peter Martz (P2e)
From his will, he had four daughters: Elizabeth married John F Gross; Amelia Catherine married Louis F Emerich; Susanna married William H Gunckel and Mary married William Sharretts. I assume I got the names of their husbands from the work of Allen Tallman.
Known Sons notes for Peter Martz (P2e)
From his will and from Census, we know of two sons -- David and Jacob. Jacob is buried in the same cemetery as Peter. I had to do a little work to track down David but he lived in 1860 in Germantown and then moved to Henry County, IN by 1870. But there is a carry-through of the names of members of his 1860 household to 1870, proving it was him.

However, there was one additional son. A petition filed in 1859 regarding Peter’s estate makes it clear there was a child Peter age 6 who must have been born after his father’s death. His mother Hannah had remarried Samuel Achely who had since died. His name was actually Peter Alva and Alva too is buried in the same cemetery as his father.
