Notes for James McDougall
In order to vote in NC in 1902, each male had to register and announce the name of an ancestor who had voted prior to January 1, 1867. (Obviously a crude attempt to keep blacks from voting). So, in Wilmington, Thomas Lawther, age 53, said that his ancestor T R Lawther had voted in Virginia. And James McDougall (Isabel’s brother) age 56 said that his ancestor Robt had voted in SC.

Hi, my name is Thomas Campbell. I have been looking into my family history and have recently learned that my great-grandfather, Colin D. Campbell had a sister, Christina and 2 brothers, Edwin and James Howard that all ended up in Wilmington NC. Colin D. ended up in NJ and died in 1932.
Sincerely,
