His baptism was recorded in the records of Gau Heppenheim church in Germany. He was the son of Bernhardt Hambscher and his wife Apollonia.
Relocated notes for Adam Hamscher
Everything fits that Adam was none other than the Adam Hamscher who arrived America in 1753 -- thus at age 17 just old enough to be listed as a passenger -- and who settled in Northampton County and married Maria Margaret Heckman there in 1758 (thus at age 22 exactly a typical age when Germans married then).
My Comments notes for Adam Hamscher
Paul Burdick documented the family of Adam Hamsher, the 1753 immigrant who settled in Northampton County, PA, where he died in 1809. His children included Daniel, Barnet, Anna Maria, Margaret and Adam. The name Barnet was of course significant as our ancestor John also named a son Barnet.

Adam’s son Daniel married Catherine Waltman and had children: Valentine, Adam, Daniel, Peter, Jacob, Bernhard, Barbara, Catherine, Elizabeth, Conrad and John. This is almost the same set of names attributed to Anton Hamsher in “The House of Waltman”. At the baptisms of several of Adam’s children, the sponsors were Catherine’s grandparents: Valentine and Catherine Waldman. Valentine Waltman was the name supposedly given his adopted son by the Count von Furstenberg.

So it appears that the “House of Waltman” is a totally corrupted story about Daniel Hamsher, son of Adam.
