IMMIGRANT. Strassburger records the arrival of Johannes and Canrath Aumiller on the ship Good Intent on 23 Oct 1754. Johannes is mentioned in Heidelberg Township, Berks County in 1767 and from 1780-1786 but he also acquired land in Penns Township in the 1770’s, served in the Revolutionary War with a Northumberland County unit and by 1787 seems to have become a permanent resident of Penns Township.

1790. He lives in North’d County, he is on the same page as Nicholas Mertz.

1800. He lives in Penns Twp. He is 45+ as is his presumed wife.

1810. He lives in Penns Twp near his son John Jr. He is 45+, the oldest female present 26-45.

The DAR lists him as “John Aumiller: b.15 Jul 1735 Germany d. a 17 Feb 1815 PA m Catharine Weiss Pvt PA”

On LDS Film (Pennsylvania Marriages), his marriage was given as 15 Sep 1760

Some Internet Family Trees say she was Catherine Wiese or Weiser. The church record of her marriage says Weisen (most likely the feminine form of Weise). From 1745 to 1765, 6 women and 2 men named Weise or Wesien were married at St Michael’s Church and just one person named Weiser (samuel Wieser 1760).

In addition to our ancestor Christina, Johannes and Catherine baptized these other children at Hain’s Church: Jacob 19 May 1773 probably died young, George Michael 13 Aug 1780, Mary Elizabeth 12 Sep 1775 (married John Duck), Susanna 20 Feb 1785 (married Christian Stock). And, from the land record when the heirs disposed of their father’s land, we can add John and Catherine who married Mr. Shaffer to the list of Johannes’ heirs.
