Parent-Proof notes for 7G GM Rebecca Baker
Robert Barnes says Peter’s wife was Rebecca “possibly Bond” but he also notes that on 15 Jul 1737, John Baker conveyed 200 acre Preston’s Luck to Rebecca, wife of Peter Pottee -- which sounds to me like a father to daughter. Barnes does not reconcile these “facts”.

My Comments notes for 7G GM Rebecca Baker
One Internet family tree says John Baker was the father of Rebecca, another says her name was Rebecca Bond. I find the fact that John Baker conveyed land to Rebecca to be strong evidence that Rebecca was indeed Rebecca Baker and not Rebecca Bond. I almost think that Bond was a typo by Barnes that has been propagated elsewhere. It is possible though that Rebecca married first a Mr. Bond and that would explain the confusion — but there is no evidence that that occurred.

It is interesting that we have Elizabeth Baker, wife of William Slade in this generation, too. I have no idea if there was a connection.
Parent-Proof notes for Peter (Spouse 1)
Robert W Barnes says that Peter Poteet was possibly the son of Francis and definitely the brother of Francis (Jr. implied) who was also possibly a son of Francis.
Census History notes for Peter (Spouse 1)
He died long before any Census was taken.
Research notes for Peter (Spouse 1)
The ”First Families of Baltimore and Anne Arundel Counties” on the Baltimore County web page shows Rebecca Bond as Peter Potee’s wife, however a number of other sources say she was Rebecca Baker.
My Comments notes for Peter (Spouse 1)
Barnes says that Peter, who died by 2 Apr 1740, married Rebecca (possibly Bond) who died about 1758. The will of Peter Puttee dated 5 Oct 1733 proved 2 Apr 1740 named wife Rebecca and children: Lewis, Catherine Miles, Rebecca Foyy, Ann Whiteaker, Sarah Preston, Mary and Elizabeth. The will of Rebecca Puttee dated 29 May 1742 proved 28 Mar 1758 named the same children except Ann was then Ann Pike and Mary was then Mary Chalk.

It is said that Ann married Abraham Whitacre on 15 Jul 1725 and married second William Pike after he died.
