Parent-Proof notes for Abraham (Spouse 1)
Abraham’s birth was recorded in the parish records of St George’s as 19 Sep 1702, son of John Witticar and Catherine. In 1724, he sold his half of “The Enlargement”, left him by his father. His brother Peter had already sold his half in 1722.
Relocated notes for Abraham (Spouse 1)
Every document involving Abraham Whitaker and his father John indicated they were of Baltimore County. But it is clear they lived in the area of Baltimore County that would become Harford County in 1773. We know that from descriptions of their land -- Bush River and Bynum’s Run are Harford County places -- and their mentions in the records of St. George’s Parish -- which was the Harford County parish.
Research notes for Abraham (Spouse 1)
Robert Barnes says: “Abraham, born 19 Sep 1702 died by 31 Dec 1739 (when his will was administered) married Ann Poteet 15 Jul 1725. In Nov 1724, Abraham was indicted for begetting a baseborn child on Susannah Temple.”

Abraham and John Whitaker took the 1778 Loylty Oath -- obviously of a later generation.
My Comments notes for Abraham (Spouse 1)
The marriage of Abraham Whitaker and Ann Puttee on 15 Jul 1725 is on record.

Beaumont Whitaker’s genealogy seems to be well researched and he says that Abraham and Ann were the parents of Ann who married Ezekiel Slade. Ann named a son Abraham which strongly reinforces this belief.
Children Names notes for Abraham (Spouse 1)
His children were named as part of his 1743 estate administration: Abraham, Isaac, Peter, Hannah and Ann. They were all young, his daughters had not yet married.
