Birth, Parent-Proof, Designation notes for David (Davolt) Marts (T3d)
We know Peter had a son David, he named him as his youngest son in his will. The problem is what happened to him. Did he die young? Or, did he marry and move away but then the problem is there are way too many David Mærtz so how could I ever be sure that any particular one of them was this missing son?
It turns out he did marry and move away and then for what appears to be all his adult life went by the name Davolt. I found him first in the 1830 Census in Wheeling, (then) VA and then in Hancock, KY and finally in Louisville, KY where I think he lived out his life. Davolt (also Dewalt and others) is a nickname for Theobald.
David Davolt is designated T3d.
