Parent-Proof notes for I DO NOT THINK SHE WAS BENJAMIN’s DAUGHTER Kezziah Hummel
I am adding this fictitious daughter for Benjamin in the hopes that some day someone will figure out who her parents were.
The Internet believes that Kezziah Hummel (1804-1878) married Daniel Reeser and that she was the daughter of my Benjamin Hummel and Catherine Kiehl. But I have looked for any evidence of this and can find none.
There is evidence her name was Hummel — the Kentucky death certificate of her daughter Keziah (Reeser) Wetterstroem (1836-1918) says her parents were Daniel Reeser and Keziah Hummel. This younger Keziah was obviously the 15 year old daughter named Keziah living with Daniel Reasor and his wife Keziah in Bartholomew County, Indiana (a Census listing no one else seems to have found perhaps due to either the place or spelling of Reasor).
On find-a-grave, it says Keziah was born in Augustaville, Northumberland County. It is my belief that if she were a Hummel, perhaps her ancestry has something to do with the Shamokin Hummels.
I can also find no lead on any Catherine Kiehl who married anyone named Hummel.
The reason I even bother to put her in my database is to keep her around because I have 6 DNA cousins who all think they descend from Keziah and so Ancestry ThruLines is telling me that is how I am their cousin.
