There is a John Marts in the 1850 Census in Clarke County, Virginia, age 70, born Virginia.
I don’t know who he is but maybe he is the John C Martz, deceased, when Jacob Chamberlain Marts wrote his will in 1853. Of course, there’s a big discordant note here and that is that I think Jacob was born in 1772 and John, per the 1850 Census, was born in 1780. That wouldn’t work.
Nonetheless, I need a place to put him because I may have found his son and grandson and I need a place to put them.
John is designated U3a.
