George’s dates of birth and death are easily verified by his death certificate which also informs that he was the son of Jonathan and Elizabeth (Bittner) Martz and that he was born in Somerset County and died in Westmoreland County.
He is also on find-a-grave where he is linked to his parents and his wife.

Parent-Proof notes for Mary J (Spouse 1)
Her death certificate says she was the daughter of Solomon and Mary (Sturtz) Troutman. Her maiden name is confirmed by several death certificates of her children.
The Troutman name appears elsewhere in the Somerset County family as George’s Uncle Daniel married Rachel Troutman. So too the Sturtz name. Wilhelm’s daughter Barbara married Abraham Sturtz.
