I found an obituary on newspapers.com. He was the son of John and Sarah (Sailor) Mertz, he married Lydiann Kieffer. Survived by three sons: Henry and John of Lyons, Adam of Mertztown — and three daughters: Sally, Mrs. Eugene Knittle of Kutztonw nd Mrs. Lousia Bender of Reading. His sister Mrs. Ellen Koller of Fleetwood also survives.
