Research notes for Thomas (Spouse 1)
Thomas Thayer is one of two different immigrant Thayers covered in the Vinton Memorial, the other being Richard. John Adams Vinton speculates they may have been brothers. They both were of the Braintree area.

There is a find-a-grave memorial for Thomas and for his wife on find-a-grave, burial unknown category. It gives her name as Margery Wheeler. It gives full birth and death dates for both of them.

Find-a-grave also says that Thomas was the son of Richard Thayer, not any of the Richard Thayers covered by the Vinton book. That Richard Thayer (1562-1625), according to find-a-grave, never left England and had two wives: Ann Gibbs and Ursula Alice Dimery. In addition to Thomas, still according to find-a-grave, this Richard had a son named Richard (1601-1664) who died in Barbados and whose wife was Dorothy Mortimore. And this couple had a son named Richard who married Dorothy Pray.

So, as I pointed out when discussing Priscilla’s ancestors covered by the Vinton book named Richard Thayer, there is total confusion between which Richard on find-a-grave is which Richard in the Vinton book which I am not attempting to reconcile. It is interesting though that whereas John Adams Vinton only speculates that Thomas and Richard Thayer, the immigrants, my have been brothers, find-grave, in fact (if it is fact), traces both of them to a common ancestor, though I think it is more like an uncle-nephew relationship than brothers.
