Birth, Parent-Proof, Designation notes for George Martz (G1a2a)
George was named as Executor of his father’s will. And we know William had a son George based on the 1871 land deed. The problem is that both William and Nicholas had a son George, so which was the son of William. I have concluded that this George was the son of William based on where he lived and where he was buried. He is designated G1a2a.
Relocated and Census Tracking notes for George Martz (G1a2a)
George was listed in the 1830 to 1880 Census, always in Salem Township, where his presumed father William also had lived.
Death and Find-a-Grave notes for George Martz (G1a2a)
George and his wife Maria are on find-a-grave. When his memorial was initially put up, there was a totally incomplete biography for him that merged him with George, son of Nicholas. It actually said he was the son of Nicholas and credited him as being married to both his own wife as well the wife of the other George.
I got it straightened out.
Known Sons notes for George Martz (G1a2a)
From Census, it appears that George and Maria had no children.
Parent-Proof notes for Maria (Spouse 1)
In 1849, George and Maria Martz, formerly Maria Baird, grand-daughter of William Baird, gave their release to his Executors.
