Parent-Proof notes for Lydia Tice
The marriage record of George Mertz and Lydia Tice says her parents were Jacob and Rebecca (Wolf) Tice.
Birth, Parent-Proof, Designation notes for George (Spouse 1)
George is the third younger male who pops up in Lebanon County and then worshiped at the same church where Owen and John Henry worshipped. Later, like his older brothers, he moved to Shelby County, Illinois. I think he is the third brother. In his case I know from his marriage record that he was John’s son. He is designated Y2b3.
Relocated and Census Tracking notes for George (Spouse 1)
1850 Census. George Martz, age 15, lived in the Johnson household (perhaps an in-law or perhaps working) in North Lebanon Township, Lebanon County, PA apart from his father and brothers. In 1860, he was still in Lebanon County and then moved to Shelby County, IL where, in 1870, he was the next door neighbor of John.

By 1880, he had moved on to Wayne County, IL.
Death and Find-a-Grave notes for George (Spouse 1)
Geo Martz is on find-a-grave, I believe. No dates are on his memorial, the photo is of a marker which says Co C, 93rd PA Infantry. I am sure it is him, though, because of the PA connection and because he was tried in Mayne County, IL where he was last living.

And quite curiously, in the same cemetery there is a memorial for Lydia Jane “Liddie” (Martz) Tice (1826-1890). At first I thought this was George’s wife Lydia Tice.

But her tombstone and the memorial clearly say she was the wife of Henry Michael Tice and it further says she was a faithful member of the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lebanon County before moving to Illinois.

She must have been George’s sister.
