Isaac first went north. By 1850, he was in lower Northumberland County and then by 1860 and thereafter, he was in Lower Augusta Township, Northumberland County. There he was an interloper, someone from an entirely different line, in Daniel’s case the John Henry line, showing up where another extensive Martz family, the Hans Peter line, was already living and had been for many decades.
I find interlopers to be a rare event up to, say, 1850, generally a cluster of Martz families in a specific place were related to each other. But obviously at some point it would become less rare. There are a lot of Martzes and eventually they would trip over each other.
But Isaac moved on to South Dakota by 1888 and ended up in Iowa where he died.
