We know Amos as the son of William from his presence in his father’s household in the 1850 Census. His Iowa death certificate confirms the names of his parents. He is designated H1d1d.
In 1860 and 1870, he lives locally with ”random” people. Then I believe I have found him in 1880 in Union County, IA. The tell-tale is that he says he was born in Pennsylvania and living in his household was Daniel W Martz, age 20, also born PA, described as Amos’ cousin. Indeed, he had a cousin Daniel of that age, son of his uncle Daniel (H1d2).
Moreover, in 1880, his brothers Benjamin and William were also living in Union County, Iowa.
In 1860 and 1870, he lives locally with ”random” people. Then I believe I have found him in 1880 in Union County, IA.
