Birth, Parent-Proof, Designation notes for Joseph Mertz
A Joseph Mertz was baptized at Mertz Church by Hener and Eva. I have no idea who the father could possibly be except Henry (H6) and so Joseph would be designated H6c.
But then what happens to him?
There’s a Joseph Mertz in North Whitehall Township in the 1820 and 1830 Census for whom the age is right to be this Joseph. But I think that must be the Joseph buried at Egypt Reformed who, according to his find-a-grave memorial, was born in 1793.
It’s possible that Joseph in Census and buried at Egypt is this Joseph and something is wrong with the birth date on find-a-grave, but I think a better place for 1793 Joseph in my hierarchy is as the son of Philip (X), of the Heidelberg Cluster.
For now, my theory is that this Joseph died young.
But then what happens to him?
