There was a Hy Mery in the 1850 Census in East Allen Township who in later Census was Henry Mertz. He was born in 1818. Only because he first appeared in Census in Allen Township and was of the right age, I have guessed that he was the son of John. If not John, then possibly he was the son of one of John’s brothers. As John’s son, he is designated H4b2.
