Richard was mentioned in his father’s will. From his age, Richard would seem to be Jacob’s sixth son. It seems obvious to believe he is the Richard Martz buried in Somerset County.

From Census, Richard seems to have had several sons but one for sure was Hannibal Lincoln (2 May 1862-5 Aug 1931). He was listed with Richard in the 1870 Census, age 8. Hannibal was the author of the first book on the Martz family of Somerset County.
Only two of his sons were born before 1850: Jacob 1842 and Dennis 1848. I have been able to track them both.
