It is quite easy to demonstrate that Luke (Sr.) had a son named Luke. His baptism was recorded and the two land deeds make it clear.
My Comments notes for Luke Wiley
An inventory was filed 18 Jun 1778 for Luke Wile with Greenbury Wile and John Wile named as next of kin. Cassandra Wyle was the administrator. This means that both Luke Sr. and Luke Jr. had wives named Cassandra. (The Internet says her maiden name too was Carr, how confused can this get?)
Curiously, on the 1783 tax list of Mine Run Hundred, we find these Wileys: Benjamin, Greenbury, John, Joshua, Vincent, Walter, William AND Cassandra Jr. and Cassandra Sr. (that’s interesting that it was phrased that way).
