Richard Ballhorn of Ottawa contacted me and tld me about Elizabeth Newell Lockwood. He said her 1954 obituary said she had brothers Cole Newell, Massachussets and Jack Newell in Ottawa, Canada, and sisters Annie McElhiney, Toronto, Canada and Lucy Lane, Baltimore.

Elizabeth was born in Newfoundland in 1878 and moved to St John, New Brunswick to live with her sister Annie E McElhiney about 1900. Elizabeth joined the Salvation Army in New Brunswick in 1901 and served across Canada until 1913 when she resigned to marry my great uncle Junius Lockwood in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada. They had two children, Russel B and Edythe and settled in Calgary, Alberta in 1917. Elizabeth remained active in the Salvation Army and died in Calgary, Alberta in 1954. Junius died in 1961.
