My Comments notes for Nicholas (Spouse 1)
There is no doubt that Nicholas was the son of Jan Jensen, the question is by which wife? If I knew his date of birth, that would help. Elizabeth Papen, Jan’s first wife, died sometime between 1722 and 1728. So, if Nicholas was born in 1720 or 1721 -- as some people say -- then he was Elizabeth’s son. If he was born in the mid-1720’s, then things would be a little ambiguous and if he were born in 1729 or later, then he would definitely be Anna Maria’s son.
I don’t know his date of birth. I do know that his father conveyed land to him in 1755 and I know that he, Nicholas, died in 1760 at which point he had at least three children. I think a 1729 or 1730 birth is too late for him, so I believe he was born in that ambiguous period.
