Known Daughters notes for William Martz (P5b1a)
Daughter Amanda married Abraham Kashner in 1867 and apparently died in 1868, both her marriage and her death at a very young age.

The name Abraham Kashner appeared earlier in my research into the family of Abraham and Catherine (Harmon) Martz, he was named as the husband of their deceased daughter Catharine in the 1840 petition to partition Abraham’s land. After his wife died, Abraham married again and by his second wife had a son Abraham — the one who married Amanda R Martz.

Amanda was the first cousin once removed to Catherine (Kashner) Flaningam who was the half-sister of Amanda’s husband.
Birth, Parent-Proof, Designation notes for William Martz (P5b1a)
I believe the John and Rebecca Martz who died in 1849 and were buried in Montgomery County, IN were the same John and Rebecca who married in 1827 in Pickaway County, OH. From the 1840 Census, it is clear they had a family and I believe the remnants of some of their family were still living in Montgomery County in 1850. The household was headed by the very young William Martz born 1828. Besides his wife, we also find Abraham, Isaac and Jacob Martz, ages 12, 8 and 8 respectively.

In 1850, Samuel Martz (John’s bother) was appointed guardian of John’s minor children including sons Abraham, Isaac and Jacob — proving that William too (older so not needing a guardian) must also have been John’s son.

William is designated P5b1a.
Relocated and Census Tracking notes for William Martz (P5b1a)
In 1860, he was still in Montgomery County with wife Sarah and now a daughter Amanda R. Age 8 and then I lose track of him.
