I have seen certain things on the Internet that seem like someone has confused this Alice with the other Alice, I think there were two women named Alice associated with this family, both their names appear -- as separate people -- on the land patent by Ales Johnson/Mutchner on behalf of the sisters of John McClung.

We know that Alice married Benjamin Elliott from the land record in which all of John’s six sisters were named. I found the baptism record of Delilah Crayton Elliott in the St James Parish register, she was born 30 Jun 1812 and clearly named for Alice’s mother.
