We know Jacob as the son of Jacob from his baptism at Mertz Church and from his father’s estate file. He is designated H3a.

This is the one son that John Jacob Sr. baptized at Mertz Church. He was born in 1774. I believe he also stayed in Rockland Township and is the younger Jacob there in 1820-1840 after his father died.

Jacob is on find-a-grave. When I first saw the memorial, Elizabeth Mertz was linked to him as his wife. I knew from his father’s estate file that Elizabeth was Jacob’s sister. I was able to get that problem fixed. It took me even more work to then get Susanna Mertz linked to him as his wife.
There is a Berks County estate file for this Jacob as well. It says his wife was Susanna and that they had no children.
