He was mentioned in his father’s will and listed in the 1850 Census. I tried to get a death certificate for him in order to establish the name of his mother but apparently there was none filed. Except there was, problem may be I had dod as 1910 and dc says 1915, name of mother Elizabeth Hartman.

Death of George Kleckner
George Kleckner died at his home on Walnut Street, this place, Saturday, July 10, at 5:45 A.M. aged 73 years, 1 month and 6 days. A little more than a year ago he was stricken with paralysis which affected his left side, from which he had been unable to do any work and on last Friday evening about 6 o’clock a second stroke paralyzed his right side, which caused his death at the time stated.

George Oliver Kleckner was a son of George and Elizabeth Kleckner, deceased of West Buffalo Twp., and born June 4, 1842. When a young man he learned the tanning trade at Forest Hill.

On Nov. 19, 1863 he married Miss Martha Jane Gutelius, daughter of the late George and Catharine Gutelius, deceased of this place.

For a time after their marriage they resided at Forest Hill where he worked at his trade, tanning, and afterwards moved to his father’s farm for a few years. Later he bought a farm near Centerville, Snyder County, which he conducted with success until he met with several misfortunes— the destruction of his barn by fire which he rebuilt, and a short time afterwards he lost his home in the same manner, thought at the time to be of incendiary origin.

When the family located in Mifflinburg, residing here ever since, a period of more than 35 years. Although somewhat disheartened by their several sore financial losses, they began life over again and by their industry have gotten along quite comfortably.

For a number of years he was a faithful employee of the late Mr. L.D. Kurtz, deceased, in his tannery, and when that ceased to be his willing hands found other things to do in and about town. He has been sexton at the M.E. Church for the past ten years and of which he was a faithful member. He was a cheerful, kindhearted man and had a legion of friends.

Mr. Kleckner is survived by his widow and the following children: William of Bethlehem; George C., Frailey A., James G. of this place; 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, also one brother, Daniel Kleckner of Bellevue, Ohio, who a few weeks ago returned to his home from a visit to this section, and two sisters— Mrs. G.W. Diehl, of West Buffalo Twp., and Mrs. Mary Wetzel of Selinsgrove.

Six children preceded him to the heavenly home.
