17 Jan 1825 OC. David Olp son of Michael says Michael lately died leaving Elizabeth, Charity, Mary and Fanny as minor children.

In the records of Jerusalem Church of Western Salisbury now Lehigh County, Michael Olp was born 13 Jul 1755 son of Barnet Olp and wife Catharina and baptized 10 Aug 1755 with Johann Martin Holtzhauser and wife Dorothea sponsors

I know this man Michael Olp or Ulp existed and he seems to have been of an age to be a brother of Conrad. He is listed in Shamokin in the 1820 Census as Michael Ulp but then a Michael Ulp, late of Shamokin Twp, died in about 1824 and then Elizabeth Ulp is listed in the 1830 Census. A safe bet would be that she was the widow of Michael.

I have no idea if he is, in fact, Conrad’s brother but I have placed him as such just to keep him handy in my database and a place to record what I know about Michael and Elizabeth.

She appears in Shamokin Twp in 1830 age 40-50. No other Olp is present.

LDS Films # 961020-23 have Wills and Administrations of Northumberland Co. "Be it remembered that on the 4th day of October AD 1841, letters of administration...were granted to Frances Donnelly upon the estate of Elizabeth Ulp, deceased, who entered into bond with Conrad Ulp in the sum of two hundred dollars."

For a long time, I figured this might be Conrad’s wife, mother of Elizabeth Ulp who married James S Hopewell. But who was Frances Donnelly? And since Conrad was still alive, why wasn’t he the administrator?

It is possible she was Conrad’s wife and those questions have answers, but it seems a simpler solution to just assume the Elizabeth Ulp who died is the one I know ever lived, the widow Elizabeth, wife of Michael.
