Obit, 4/29/14 Sunbury Daily Item: “Harold Lloyd “Red” Mertz, 83, entered into rest at 9:12 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2014, at his home.

He was born May 28, 1930, in Milton, a son of the late George and Marion (Berger) Mertz. On Feb. 15, 1953, in Milton, he married the former Mary K. Beck who survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 61 years, are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Dann A. and Donna Mertz, of Millmont, and Keith A. Mertz, of Florida; one daughter and son-in-law, Vickie A. and Michael Coup, of Milton; five grandchildren, Kari, Matthew, Pattie, Dann II, and Amy; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Donald, Charles, Robert, and Herbert Mertz; and one sister, Emma Mertz.

From Edythe (Walter) Mertz, Harold and Mary had three children: Vickie, Dann and Keith.
