Ira operated steamboat ferries which transported goods and people between Shamokin Dam and Sunbury. These ferries operated from 1772 until the Bainbridge Street Bridge was built in 1907.

I also found mention of marriage of Miss Sarah Martz to Mr Clemens in the 2 May 1835 issue of the Sunbury Gazette on Sunday last (i.e. 26 Apr 1835).
