Census History notes for Henry Benfer
I believe he is present with his father in 1790 and 1800 and then on his own in 1810-1860. In 1800, he must have been married since his daughter was born later in the year, but he does not appear to be on his own, he might be with his father.

His geographic location seems to keep changing from Penns Twp, North’d Co to Penns Twp, Union Twp and finally Jackson Twp, Snyder Co. But this may simply reflect the creation of new counties and new townships from old ones over this period of time. I think after his father died, he moved to what is now the Jackson Township area.
My Comments notes for Henry Benfer
All of the information I have about Henry comes from his tombstone and his will.

Parent-Proof notes for Eva (Spouse 1)
In the 1790 Census for North'd County, there are 3 men named Malick -- Henry Melich, Peter Melich and David Melick. There is no indication where in North'd Co they live. In 1800, in Penns Twp, North'd Co, there is a John Malick age 45+ and present in his household is a young female 16-25 who could be Eve age 19.
Census History notes for Eva (Spouse 1)
Census Listings 1790-1870. I don’t know her father so in 1790 and 1800, I can’t account for her. After 1810, she is with her husband, until 1870, when she is a widow, and I should find her then but haven’t yet.

An article in the “North'd Co Historical Proceedings” says Peter Melick came to the area from NJ in 1772.
My Comments notes for Eva (Spouse 1)
All of the information I have about Eve comes from her tombstone, including that I have concluded that she is the mother of Magdalena (Benfer) Yerger based on the proximity and similarity of their tombstones. Eve/Eva’s maiden name comes from an Internet family tree I have found covering the early Snyder County Benfers in great detail. I do not know how anyone knows her maiden name.
Children Names notes for Eva (Spouse 1)
Henry Benfer’s will gives all his personal property to wife Eve and then after her death: ”after expenses, divide five ways to my daughter Nancy Klingler, my son Jacob Benfer, my son Charles Benfer, children of deceased daughter Mary and children of deceased son Benjamin.”
