Parent-Proof notes for 6G GF Isaac De Turk
Several generations of Isaac’s ancestry are documented in the register of marriages and baptisms of the Hugueonot Refugee Congregations at Frankenthal, Germany, including his own baptism there on 17 Jan 1685, son of Johannes and Hester (Kip) DeTurk. That record also says the DeTurks came to Frankenthal from the vicinity of Picardy in northern France where there was seated a wealthy and highly honorable family named DeTurk.
Pedigree notes for 6G GF Isaac De Turk
Several different accounts have been written of the DeTurk family history. All versions are similar in terms of the names of the individuals though certain dates are not uniformly agreed on. I sort of suspect it may not all be true, but it makes for fun reading so I’ll give a brief sketch of the family history here as given in the Eugene DeTurk book.

The line is said to trace back to Arnulph, a Turkish emir, hence the name De Turk, and then after possibly several intervening generations, Reginald appeared on the scene in France in 1529 when King Francis acknowledged him as a descendant of Arnulph. Reginald died in 1554. His son Hugo also achieved some prominence in European records. Later generations moved to Germany.

Generation No. 1. Arnulph DeTurk was born about 1490. He was a Turkish emir, brought to France as a prisoner.

Generation No. 2 (possibly later). Reginald DeTurk who died in 1554 was acknowledged as a descendant of Arnulph. He married Louison DeFoix, born about 1517.

Generation No. 3. Hugo DeTurk, born about 1540; died 1601 in Northern France. He was the son of Reginald DeTurk and Louison DeFoix. He married Margot DePrivas.

Generation No. 4. Michael DeTurk, born 1565. He was the son of Hugo DeTurk and Margot DePrivas.

Generation No. 5. Jacob DeTurk was born in 1590 in northern France, but fled religious persecution in France about 1609 and settled in Frankenthal, Germany, where he died about 1650. He was the son of Michael DeTurk. He married Jacquemine Rickenbosche 7 Nov 1615 in Frankenthal, Germany. She was the daughter of Henrick Rickenbosche, born 1560 and Elizabeth Kuckelier, born 1570. They married in 1590.

Generation No. 6. Johannes DeTurk, born 1 Nov 1618 in Frankenthal, Germany; died about 1675 in Frankenthal, Germany. He was the son of Jacob DeTurk and Jacquemine Rickenbosche. In 1648, he married Geertruit DeBrier born 1620 in Frankenthal, Germany.

Generation No. 7. Johannes DeTurk, born 30 Jul 1650 in Frankenthal, Germany; died about 1680 in Frankenthal, Germany. He was the son of Johannes DeTurk and Geertruit DeBrier. He married Hester Kip 1670 in Frankenthal, Germany. Hester Kip, born 1656 in Frankenthal, Germany; died about 1708. She was the daughter of Hans Peter Kip born 1626 and Rachel DeFour born 1630. They married 16 Dec 1653 in Bayern, Pfalz, Germany.

Generation No. 8. Isaac DeTurk was the son of Johannes DeTurk and Geertruit DeBrier. Johannes had one other son who is my other possible candidate to be Eva Marie’s father.
Relocated notes for 6G GF Isaac De Turk
IMMIGRANT. The DeTurk book says that after three generations of temporary citizenship in Frankenthal and seeing no hope of the family ever returning to their ancestral home in France, Isaac DeTurk, a young man of 23 years resolved to accept the invitation of Queen Anne of England to join other Hugeonots and Palatines in her dominions in America. He joined the company of Reverend Joshua Kocherthal and came on the ship Globe landing in New York 31 Dec 1708.

In the spring of 1709, this company settled in Esopus, Duchess County, NY. Here Isaac met the widow Maria (DeHarcourt) Weimar whom he was to soon marry. However, Isaac came to be disenchanted with the Esopus company and he left them to follow the inducements of William Penn and finally settled in Oley Township, Berks County, PA, probably in about 1711.
Research notes for 6G GF Isaac De Turk
Eugene Peter DeTurk writes: “Amongst the prominent families in Oley were the Turcks or DeTurcks. ...They were of the so-called Huguenots, on account of which they were obliged to flee the city of Frankenthal in the Palatinate. Thence they emigrated to America, and, at the time of Queen Anne, they settled in New York in the neighborhood of Esopus. They moved to Oley in 1712.”

He documents the migration of Isaac DeTurk from Frankenthal to Oley via Esopus, NY on the ship Globe arrived 31 Dec 1708 settled first Esopus. Dcouments all his DeTurk ancestors back to Arnulph, the Turkish Emir. Also at Esopus was an accomplished young widow, Maria (DeHarcourt) Weimer and her 2-year-old daughter Catherine.
My Comments notes for 6G GF Isaac De Turk
I am not sure that Eva Marie was the daughter of Isaac, but it is reasonable to assume she ties into his family somehow. I know quite a bit about Isaac and his ancestry based on his biography as documented by his descendants. I am just assuming it is true and well researched.
