Children Names notes for Nancy Bower
The Ella Rossiter article lists the children of Jacob and Nancy as: Daniel, Elizabeth, Annie, Marie and Margaret. She doesn’t specifically mention Sarah, who married Abraham Fisher, but she talks about the Fisher descendants so this is the result I think of poor editing.
Parent-Proof notes for John Jacob (Spouse 1)
His baptism record at Moselem gives his birth date as 15 Jun 1779 baptized 25 Jun 1780.

His cemetery transcription says died 17 Dec 1860 age 80y, 5m, 29d which computes to 18 Jun 1780.
Census History notes for John Jacob (Spouse 1)
1810. Penns Twp age 25-45. There is a male age 10-16 in his household but I doubt this is a son. Otherwise 4 young daughters are present.

1820. Penns Twp age 26-45. Which of the two Jacobs of that age bracket in that place is this Jacob, I’m not sure, but he is for sure one of them. Neither has a son 10-15.

1830. Penns Twp age 40-50.

1840. Penns Twp age 40-50.

1850. Penns Twp, I believe he is the Jacob age 68 living in the houshold of Elizabeth Hedrick, his daughter.
Research notes for John Jacob (Spouse 1)
According to the Hummel Trilogy document, this man bought 132 acres from his father from Rolling Green to Hummel's Wharf. Hummels Wharf was named for him. Built the Rising Sun Inn. He was elected to the PA House of Representatives in 1834.

I found the estate file of Capt Jacob Hummel of Monroe Twp. Letters were issued 28 Dec 1860 to George Schnure and Margaret Davis. His inventory showed assets of $691.62. I found nothing else of note. [Margaret Davis was his daughter w/o James K, I do not know who George Schnure was.]
My Comments notes for John Jacob (Spouse 1)
His epitaph and biographies I have seen say he served as Captain in the War of 1812 and he seems to have then been called that the rest of his life..
