“In the year 1650 in the parish of Michelrieth in the little village of Altfeld bei Marktheidenfeld in the area known as Spessart, Lower Franconia, Bavaria lived a certain Hans Gerberich (1613-1682) and wife Apollonia (1627-1690). The Gerberichs had been living in the Spessart for many generations previously.”
