Parent-Proof notes for 7G GF William Wright
Emerson Roberts, author of the Wainwright book, says William was the son of Bloyce.
Relocated notes for 7G GF William Wright
One way or another William was an immigrant. Even if he was born in America, as Roberts seems to suggest, it would have been Virginia and he then later “emigrated” to Somerset County, Maryland.

Robert Barnes cites the published work of others especially in documenting the life of William Wright, progenitor, and his great-grandson, Bloyse. He documents William’s son Bloyse and his son Thomas in much the way he does others, citing wills and land and church records.

William Wright appears on a 1681 Maryland tax list, unspecified county, as if being paid for services provided rather than being taxed.

Gust Skordas cites these references to William Wright. (1663-1680) William Wright: Imm. 1641, Imm. 1644, Transp. 1671, Transp.1678. (1679-1700) Patents of William Wright. Somerset County Planter, Elson 50a 14 Feb1682, Pennywise 45a 5 Jun 1688, Venture 50a 25 Jul 1679, Wolve's Quarter 100a 5 Jun 1688, Wright's Choice 100a 25 Jul 1679, Wright’s Venture 5 Jun 1688. (1701-1730) Patents of William Wright. Baltimore County, Wright’s Forest 100a 10 Jan 1706. (1731-1750) Patents of William Wright Sr. Jacob’s Inheritance 100a 6 Jul 1733.
Discrepant Facts notes for 7G GF William Wright
Clayton Torrence says William and Frances married either 27 Dec 1670 or 7 Dec 1669, as both dates are noted in different places. Emerson Roberts says they married 27 Dec 1669. No matter really, it was a long time ago.
My Comments notes for 7G GF William Wright
There may have been several men named William Wright in Colonial Maryland in the mid-1600’s. At least one of them probably came to Maryland from England while at least one other relocated into Maryland from Virginia. Our ancestor may have been the latter, if he was the son, as stated by Emerson Roberts, of Bloyce Wright. But that is not absolutely proven.

What I can prove is that our ancestry can be traced to a very specific man named William Wright who I know married Francis Bloyce in 1669 (or 1670) in Somerset County, Maryland and who died there by 1709 when his son Bloyce gifted land he had inherited from his father to his brothers William and Solomon and took possession of land gifted to his mother in 1685 by her father Thomas Bloyce.

The three tracts that Bloyce deeded to his brothers are all listed in a book of early land patents by Gus Skordas with patent dates as follows: Elson (possibly Eason) 50 acres 14 Feb 1682, Wrights Venture 50 acres 25 Jul 1679 (5 acres added in 1688), Wright's Choice 100 acres 25 Jul 1679.
Children Names notes for 7G GF William Wright
Robert Barnes says this about William:

“William was an inhabitant of Somerset County where he married Frances, daughter of Thomas and Frances Bloyse, on 7 Dec 1669. Their children include: Elizabeth, Temperance, Judith, Bloyce born 5 Mar 1681, Frances, Mathew, William, Solomon and possibly Alos and Thomas.”
Parent-Proof notes for Frances (Spouse 1)
She was named in her father’s will. In 1709, she made a deed of gift to her son Bloyce of land she got by deed of gift from her father Thomas Bloyce. The land was 350 acres in two tracts, one called Success, the other Pennywise, lying on the east side of the Chesapeake in Somerset County on the south side of Little Mony Creek.
My Comments notes for Frances (Spouse 1)
A book by Clayton Torrence, ”Old Somerset on the Eastern Shore of MD” lists the marriage of William Right (Wright) and Frances Bloyse on 27 Dec 1670 but it is also listed for 7 Dec 1669.

She was named in very early colonial records as the daughter of Thomas Bloyce and later as the wife of William Wright.
