Parent-Proof notes for 6G GF Matthias Cramer
As to Matthias, father of Matthias who died in 1783, “Early Germans of New Jersey” says “among the Palatines of the second emigration in New York, 1710, was Anna Maria Cramerin (widow) b.1680 (?) who had children [including] Jurgen (George) and John Hendrick.”

The book further says that Matthias (Sr.) may have been the son of Jurgen or Hendrick; or he may have been the Matthias Cramer who landed at Philadelphia 14 Oct 1731.

It turns out, according to a correspondent named Charles Posner who seems to have done his homework, Matthias, father of Matthias who died in 1783, was indeed a grandson of the widow Anna Maria and indeed was the son of her son Jurgen. And the Matthias who arrived Philadelphia in 1731 is not a part of this story.

Here is what Charles Posner said about this Matthias (Sr.): “Johannes (John) Matthias Cramer (1715-1763) was born just before the death of his parents and was brought up by his grandmother and a surviving uncle and aunt. He was possibly in the New Jersey militia at some point. He had the title "Corp." He married Anna Maria (Marion) McCray 1721-1753. Her family came from Pennsylvania and New York.”
Discrepancies notes for 6G GF Matthias Cramer
There was a Johann Matthias Cramer on the ship Lowther arrived Philadelphia 14 Oct 1731. Margaretta and Isabella Agnes Cramer were also on-board, no ages stated, nor relationships among the three. In any event, he seems not to be related to my Cramer family or only distantly if at all.
