Census History notes for David Klein
In the 1800 Census in Berks County, we find:

David Klein in Maxatawny age 45+ with younger males under 10 and 2 more 16-25, a wife 26-44 and 2 daughters 10-15. This confirms quite nicely to David (1754-1821), presumed uncle of this David.

David Kline in Longswamp age 16-25 as was his wife and there was a male 10-15 and a female under 10 present. The young female is no doubt Lydia born 1796 but where is Magdalena born 1799? The male 10-15 must be a brother of either David or his wife.

Also in Longswamp, there was Adam Klein and Jacob Kline.

David Klein in Tulpehocken age 45+ with a very large family, and

David Klein age 26-44 in Exeter.

I think for now we can ignore the latter two..

In the 1810 Census in Berks County, we find:

David Klien (sic) age 26-44, a wife of the same age, 4 sons under 10 and 2 females under 10 and 1 10-15. I think this is this David. The daughter 10-15 was Lydia and two of the sons were likely David and Johannes. I don’t know the other children but some baptisms went unrecorded in those days.

Assuming this is this David, it might example why his daughter Rachel born in 1811 was baptized at Mertz Church.

In 1820, in Rockland, there was David Kine age 26-44. This is not old enough for this David and too old for his son David.

In 1830, in Rockland, there was:

David Kline, age 26-44, which is not old enough for this David who would have been closer to 55, but may be an error.

David Kline Jr. age 20-29 which is right for David, son of David and Magdalena.

George Kline age 60-69. This is the Georg eKine (1768-1846) buried at St Paul’s in Amityville, but I don’t know who he was.

Rubee (Reuben) Kline Esq. I don’t know him.
