She was mentioned in her father's 1803 will and her baptism was recorded at Longswamp.
Research notes for Elisabeth Mertz
On 23 May 1779, at Longswamp, Elisabeth Mertz d/o Philip and Eva was baptized. Sponsors: Peter Voegele and wife Elisabetha. Philip has a sister Elizabeth (I think) and a cousin Elizabeth and I have guessed that his sister is the wife of Conrad Drescher and his cousin the wife of Peter Voegele. This record of course casts some doubt on that conclusion, and it may be the other way around.
Discrepancies notes for Elisabeth Mertz
Her Longswamp baptism record gives her birth date as 12 Apr 1779 but find-a-grave has 12 Mar 1779. That date apparently came from her tombstone but from the photo of it, I cannot make out what it says.
