Polly was listed second among his daughters in her father’s will. Polly is generally a nickname for Mary and I believe she was the daughter who Mesier referred to as Mary Catherine who, he said, married first Mr. Brown then Mr. Heimbach. Jack Mertz listed daughter Catherine who married first Mr. Brown and second Mr. Heimbach. He listed no daughter of Peter and Catherine named Mary or Polly.
Meiser separately listed a daughter Catherine who he said married Mr. Garmin.
The truth I believe is that both daughter Polly and daughter Catherine married men named Heimbach. Polly married first Henry Brown and second Henry Heimbach and Catherine married William Heimbach.

Research notes for Polly Mertz
Meiser/Martz says that son Henry Brown had a son Arthur C who married the daughter of B F Arnold. This could be true as we find in 1880, Henry Brown and wife Lydia live in Freeburg. He is a merchant, age 42, and she is 29 and their children are William F 5, Arthur C 4, Dora E 2 and Olive L 1.
My Comments notes for Polly Mertz
Meiser showed two families for Mary Catherine. By Mr. Brown, she had a son Henry b.1838 who became a Judge. By second husband (who he called William) Heimbach, she had five children from 1825-1835. For this to be true, the order of the marriages would have to be reversed.
I believe the chronology was this:
1.) In 1826, there was record of the marriage of Henry Brown and Mary Mertz
2.) Polly Brown lived with her mother, the widow Catherine Mertz, in 1850 and William Heimbach lived with wife Catharine (Polly’s sister).
3.) In 1860, Mary lived with Henry Heimbach and there was record of the 1853 marriage of Mrs. Mary Brown and Henry Heimbach. Henry Brown lived with them.
I have concluded therefore that one of Peter’s daughters was named Mary and called Polly and she married first Henry Brown and second Henry Heimbach. She had a sister named Catherine who married William Heimbach.
