Johannes is known from his 1787 baptism. He died before 1830.

A Johannes Martz (March) died in Mahoning Co, OH in 1858 and from his tombstone was born in 1776. Descendants believe he was this Johannes since his was the only baptism they could find with a date somewhat close to the birth date of this Johannes.
But y-chrmosone DNA of a male Martz descendant of Johannes of Mahoning proves that their Johannes was descended in some way, that I have yet to totally figure out, from one of the Mertz Church Mertzes.
Besides this Johannes was not mentioned in his grandfather’s estate papers, ruling out that he survived to 1858.
